Podcast Project
Script
"What is inspiration really? An unrequited muse, constantly revealing itself to me in ways I keep trying to understand. Through grief, through anger, through my ongoing struggle with depression. Listening to a song on repeat. A sunset. The beauty of the crashing waves upon the rocks. The feeling of sand beneath my feet and between my toes. A fleeting moment with someone you see on the street. Hair blowing across her face. The soft purrs of a sleeping cat on your lap. A quote you once read and often reflect on during those quiet moments before drifting off to sleep... Another artist’s work--How did they do that? They made it look so easy. Newfound love. The beat of your heart pounding in your ears. A lush green forest. The untaken path. An endless list of possibilities. Creativity strikes at the most random of times." |
Reflection
For this project, I used Adobe Premiere Rush 1.5 because it is a program I was already somewhat familiar with. I tried my best to edit out the staticky background noise from my voice recording. It's the strangest thing to have to listen to my own voice over and over again throughout the entire editing process. The most challenging part for me was the placement and pacing of the images. A few images matched up fairly well to the script while the rest ended up feeling like filler. I desperately wanted to Google related images but stopped myself since we were only allowed to include our own personal content for this project. I can definitely see the benefits of being able to produce my own recordings and videos as a teacher. Whether it be for a lecture (with or without PowerPoint slides), an introduction to a project, step by step instructions, or something that students can refer back to at their leisure. I think it could also be a fun idea to let students produce their own videos as a project either related to art or simply in place of writing an essay. It would allow students to learn how to use a new program, be creative, and discover what goes into producing a podcast or video. |
